Happy Birthday, Beyoncé

Why don't you love her... ?

Now I know you all did not think I was going to let this day go by and not wish my "Motha" a happy birthday... ha!  Today has been truly an honor to her.  Her name alone has flooded my Instagram feed, twitter timeline, and I noticed her a time a two on my facebook feed as well.  What can we say?  This lady's name has been plastered everywhere.

Celebrating her 32nd birthday [#bday], I can only imagine what her and the hubby, Hov, have planned.  I am sure Baby Blue is somewhere cuddled up with grandma Tina while Shawn has her flown out to some exotic location [may be that little island he bought her a few birthdays ago].  Either way it goes, I for one, am glad that she is apart of my world.  I know I have paid homage by playing all of her albums and DVD concerts today.  I started with "Live at Wembley" and ended with "Elements of 4".  I even snuck a little "Life Is But A Dream" in there, which I later heard was shown on HBO in her honor.

Nonetheless, happy birthday, Beyoncé.  Love you dearly.

Sharing a birthday with her are my great aunt, Juanita; and a great college friend, Takara.  Join me in wishing these ladies a happy birthday, and many, many more.

Guess Who's Pregnant...

...It's B!

It should come as no surprise to the BeyHive that Mrs. Beyoncé G. Knowles-Carter is pregnant yet again. With rumors flooding the blogs for quite some time now, on top of a cancelled show on her "the Mrs. Carter World Tour"; I for one was not shocked by the news at all. After finding out, I took to twitter to see what the blogs and fellow tweeters were saying about the news and I must say that I WAS BAFFLED!

As I skimmed through my tweets, I saw people saying that she was losing, she knew better, she was trying to take the spotlight away from Kelly Rowland again, and one young man even went as far as to call her selfish. SELFISH? How is fucking, I mean screwing, your husband an act of selfishness? I couldn't read anymore.

People act as if Beyoncé doesn't have a life outside of music. The woman is married. She's already a mother of one, beautiful daughter might I add. She had countless of other projects going on as well as being on a world tour and some of you are upset at the fact that her husband didn't pull out. I'm confused... like seriously.

Besides, look at the bright side. With her being out [but please don't sleep] for at least another year, this is ample enough opportunity for other artists such as Kelly Rowland, Fantasia, and Ciara to flourish around the industry as they please. Hell, Keri Hilson might want to hop back in that studio as well. I'm just sayin'. Take advantage, man.  Take advantage.

Regardless, I am happy for her. Of course, like many of you I would have enjoyed at least a full single to hold me over, but after all she went through before the conception of little miss Blue Ivy [reference "Life Is But a Dream"], I am sure she isn't taking any chances with this bundle of joy. Think about it. Shawn isn't getting any younger and we can't have baby Blue walking around here being an only child.  Plus, anyone who knows B knows that she wants a bigger family.  You all should be happy for her.

Anywho... congratulations, B. I wish you nothing but the best and a healthy delivery.

Oh, and Monica is pregnant too.

"Dirty Laundry"

Love the track, just not as a single...

By now I'm sure you all have heard the drama-felt song by former Destiny's Child member, Kelly Rowland, entitled "Dirty Laundry". In the song she reveals her envy towards Beyoncé and introduces the world to a side that we only hear about, but never would have thought to have happen to a child of destiny. Yes. I am talking domestic violence. Such tragic events are unfortunate for the songstress, but like she said "when you make pain look this good it never wears out".

Although I enjoy the song, it's very deep. A little too deep for radio though. I don't see much radio play for this single but it's definitely album worthy. Listening to the track, she mentions being torn apart from her sister, B, being told that she didn't have love for her. It just made me think of "Destiny Fulfilled" and how the tracks "Girl", "Bad Habit", & "Through With Love" kind of tied into this track. As almost a prelude to what was to come, but what we didn't know is that it had already happened.

Needless to say, I am not here to discuss this track. I wanted to talk about the direction I feel she needs to go from here out. As usual, Kelly releases these singles waaaaay too far in advance of her actual album release date and they tend to lose buzz. As with "Commander" [which was released like a year before the album even dropped], "Dirty Laundry" isn't even hitting iTunes until Tuesday, May 21st. Either she should have kept it until Tuesday, or had an early release. She would have seen a big difference in record sales.

Regardless of the fact, I still want to see an epic video/visual for this single. I envision her lying on a therapist couch, just laid out with a bottle of preferably Hennessy or a nice whiskey just pouring her heart out in some lovely lingerie (all black, of course). As she is lying there, we need some reenactments playing on the back wall behind the couch as she is telling her story. This pitch is MONEY... mark my words!

Of course, the blogs were going bananas trying to figure out just whom she was referring to in regards to the domestic disputes, but there are no certainties. Speculation began to trickle around former NFL player & ex-fiancee, Roy Williams, but he made sure to clear his name.

I am happy for her though. I wish her much success with this album, and hope to hear good things in the future. In the meantime, release another single because I am NOT playing this depressing shit in my car.
